Editor: Maintenance Task is a PDM (Product Data Management) data editor component for IDA-STEP v4 with a focus towards editing training data. IDA-STEP Maintenance Task Editor has numerous controls to edit various PDM data, such as organizations, documents, parts and other information.
This editor component can be used to create or update existing PDM data in the STEP files or to create a training system by indicating tasks and the corresponding information.

Organization data

Organization data is the most common PDM data used by the majority of various CAD systems. IDA-STEP Maintenance Task Editor provides a fully functional editor for such data - organization, person and position data can be managed.
Moreover, this data can be linked one to another - a person can be added to the organization, etc. IDA-STEP Maintenance Task Editor provides capabilities to define detailed information, such as addresses, and create a full organizational structure.
Finally, the organization data can be used together with other PDM data, e.g. by linking an organization to a part as its ID owner.
Part classification data

Parts are a common data object in various M-CAD and other systems. IDA-STEP Maintenance Task Editor allows to edit this data as well as create new information.
Using IDA-STEP Maintenance Task Editor, a user can create a full part classification structure and assign the parts to the respected classes. The Maintenance Task Editor provides capabilities to manage parts and part versions, assign their ID owners or creators.
The classes can have indicated class attributes - this means that for each part in this class it is possible to set a value for this attribute, creating a full information about a part.
Finally, the parts from this editor can be used together with other PDM data, e.g. by assigning a part to the task as a tool or an auxilary material.
IDA-STEP Maintenance Task Editor helps to manage parts and part classification data and allows the user to organize the existing data, enrich the data file with full information about a part and more.
Documents data

Documents editor in IDA-STEP Maintenance Task Editor component allows management of documents and document versions. Documents are logical entities representing physical documents and can be versioned - this is supported in the Maintenance Task editor.
Moreover, IDA-STEP Maintenance Task Editor allows to attach a physical document file to the document version - it can be transported together with the corresponding PDM data in the *.xim file.
Tasks data

Tasks in PDM are used to define a something to be done with all related information. IDA-STEP Maintenance Task Editor allows creating a hierarchical structure of tasks: tasks, sub-tasks and so on, providing task decomposition capabilities to indicate smaller steps of a bigger task.
For each task, it is possible to indicate all related information: used materials and quantity, required tools, various remarks, etc. This information is linked to the parts and other PDM data managed in the IDA-STEP Maintenance Task Editor.
Zonal breakdown data

Zonal breakdown in PDM defines the logical allocation of areas (zones), e.g. in a factory. Using IDA-STEP Maintenance Task Editor a hierarchical breakdown of zones can be created or managed. Moreover, predefined types, such as Production line, Station or Workplace can be used to define the zone type.
Existing zone plans or diagrams can be uploaded to the IDA-STEP Maintenance Task Editor and attached to a zone indicating the actual zone plan. Moreover, using the Maintenance Task Editor it is possible to mark the consituting zones in this plan and have the marks linked with actual zones.
