The PCB Layer Stack editor is currently
in a beta state. We know that a few more things have to be added to
complete its intended functionality. We want you to test the tool,
tell us how you like it and tell us what you would like to have
changed or added to fulfil your needs.
We offer you a free 90 day
evaluation license and will extend if to a full year if you provide
us with feedback. This offer is open throughout June and July
2008 and will be closed afterwards.
There are only a few steps to get the
PCB Layer Stack editor running on your PC. With a good Internet
connection the complete process should not take longer than 15
minutes:
- Register yourself in our online
shop (but you needn't pay anything)
- Once registered click on the link
for the free PCB Layer Stack Editor evaluation license inside the
online shop. This will instantly give you an individual license
number in the form 11111-22222-33333-44444-55555
- Download and install the IDA-STEP framework
(identical to the free IDA-STEP Viewer Basic)
- When the Register, Update and
Install dialogue comes up enter the licence number you got in step 2
and complete the installation.
- Now the IDA-STEP Layer Stack
Editor is ready to work. You may start a new design from scratch or
as a new user play first with an example. Here is an example you can download: LK-DSM.xim. After loading it into IDA-STEP, change to the “PCB Layer Stack" perspective, open the "Design-Stack Model" view and select e.g. "6L-Build-up".
