Export: VRML

Export: VRML component provides capabilities to export a 3D view of a model to a VRML file. 3D models are usually created using CAD systems and can be viewed using the free IDA-STEP Viewer Basic. Using Export: VRML component the 3D model, which is displayed in the IDA-STEP v4 can be exported to an international standard VRML 2.0 format.
VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) is a standard file format for representing 3-dimensional (3D) interactive vector graphics, designed particularly with the World Wide Web in mind. Read more about VRML in Wikipedia here.
After export to VRML, a corresponding *.wrl file is created. This VRML file contains the exported model and can be used in other applications or be displayed using various viewers (e.g. a free gtklookat for Linux - displayed in the screenshot left).
