Import: CADIF

CADIF is an ASCII neutral file, which is used for storing PCB, PCA and other information. This file is used by ECAD systems CR-5000, VISULA and CADSTAR from Zuken.

Import: CADIF feature allows to import design stored in CADIF file into IDA-STEP v4. It requires only the CADIF (*.paf) file.

This feature imports the following PCB and Printed Circuit Assembly (PCA) data (it is possible to import PCA data only):

  • detailed layout data of the PCB (layers, tracks, pads, physical nets, thickness, etc.);
  • PCA layout data (assembly, networks);
  • assembly information (parts, packages, lands, vias, keep-out areas, board-outline, etc.);
  • technology (Surface Mount Device (SMD), through hole, etc.);
  • full graphical information (2D).

Import feature is fully compliant with the ISO 10303-210 conformance classes (cc):

  • cc8 - Assembly Physical Design;
  • cc9 - Interconnect Design.
