Import: Expedition

Expedition™ is a PCB-CAD System from Mentor Graphics for designing Printed Circuit Boards (PCB).

Import: Expedition feature allows to import design from Expedition data files into IDA-STEP v4. It requires the Expedition data folder to import data.

This feature imports the following PCB and Printed Circuit Assembly (PCA) data (it is possible to import PCA data only):

  • detailed layout data of the PCB (layers, tracks, pads, physical nets, thickness, etc.);
  • PCA layout data (assembly, networks);
  • assembly information (parts, packages, lands, vias, keep-out areas, board-outline, etc.);
  • technology (Surface Mount Device (SMD), through hole, etc.);
  • full graphical information (2D).

Import feature is fully compliant with the ISO 10303-210 conformance classes (cc):

  • cc8 - Assembly Physical Design;
  • cc9 - Interconnect Design.
